TREKKING TO KHATA
Entering Tibet, you’ll feel as though you’ve entered an entirely different world. Tibet is the highest plateau in the world with an average altitude more than 3500 meters. Lying to the north of the great Himalayan mountain range that separates it from its neighbors, Tibet is an untamed land of nomads (drokpas), monasteries, yaks, sand dunes, and high-altitude deserts that go as far as the eyes can reach.
TREKKING TO OLD TINGRI AND MT. EVEREST BASE CAMP
This is one of the most popular adventure trekking in the world, crossing the mighty Himalayas and viewing the panorama of the world’s highest peaks. Upon your arrival to the holy city of Lhasa, the lovely blue sky and impressive glimpses of many monasteries will greet you. We will spend a couple of days in Lhasa, appreciating its prominent historical and religious sites like the breathtaking Potala Palace, magnificent Jokhang Temple, as well as the Drepung and Sera monasteries.
TREKKING FROM GANDEN TO SAMYE MONASTERY
This is the one of the most challenging trekkings in Tibet that covers 80km from Ganden monastery to the first Tibetan Buddhism monastery, Samye. You will cross the steep Shugar la pass (5250m) and Chitul la pass (5210m). You will witness the high alpine green valley with nomads’ families dwelling in their black tents and tending their herds on the grassland.
TREKKING FROM NAMTSO LAKE TO TASHI PENINSULA
The Namtso Lake is located 250km northwest from Lhasa. It is the biggest saltwater lake in Tibet, over 70km long and 30km width. This trekking tour will begin from Namtso and to reachTashi. Keep in mind that trekking on the vast northern plains of Changtang demands special preparation, as this is the coldest, most windswept, and most unpredictable part of Tibet.
TREKKING TO TSURPU AND YANGBACHEN HOT SPRING
In this trekking itinerary, we’ll take you from Tsurpu monastery to Yangbachen, via Lasar-la pass (5300m), stopping at the Yangbachen Hot Springs. This complete tour combines alpine tundra and sweeping mountain scenery with visits to monasteries and a nunnery, nicely balancing cultural and wilderness activities. The best time to participate in this trekking is from mid-April to mid-October.
TREKKING TO YAMDROK LAKE
Upon your arrival to the holy city of Lhasa, the lovely blue sky and impressive glimpses of many monasteries will greet you. We will spend a couple of days in Lhasa, appreciating its prominent historical and religious sites like the breathtaking Potala Palace, the magnificent Jokhang Temple, as well as the Drepung and Sera monasteries. These first couple of days will also help many of our visitors recover from jet-lag and get acclimatized to the higher altitude.
