Lhasa – Yamdrok Lake – Gyantse – Shigatse: Leave Lhasa, ascending to Khampa La Pass (4,790m) for a stunning view of Yamdrok Yumtso Lake. Shigatse – Everest Base Camp (EBC): Depart Shigatse early. Cross Gyatso La Pass (5,248m) and enter the Qomolangma National Nature Reserve. Visit Rongbuk Monastery and get close to majestic Everest. Everest Base Camp – Peiku Tso Lake – Saga: Catch sunrise over Everest if weather permits. Travel west across remote valleys, stopping at stunning Peiku Tso Lake. Continue to Saga by evening. •Altitude: Everest BC (5,200m) → Saga (4,600m) •Distance: ~320km / ~7 hrs •Overnight: Saga Town
Saga – Zhongba – Darchen (Mt. Kailash Base Town): Cross the vast Tibetan Plateau, passing Zhongba. Reach Darchen, the base town for Mount Kailash pilgrims. Prepare for your kora trek. •Altitude: Saga (4,600m) → Darchen (4,670m) •Distance: ~490km / ~7–8 hrs •Overnight: Darchen
Trek Day 1 – Darchen to Dirapuk Monastery: Start the Kailash kora along Lachu Valley. Walk past prayer flags and herders’ camps. End the day at Dirapuk Monastery with incredible views of Mount Kailash’s north face. •Altitude: Darchen (4,670m) → Dirapuk (5,080m) •Trek Distance: ~12km / ~5–6 hrs •Overnight: Dirapuk Guesthouse
Trek Day 2 – Dirapuk to Zutulpuk Monastery via Drolma La Pass: The most challenging day of the trek. Cross Drolma La Pass (5,630m), the spiritual highlight of the kora. Trek Day 3 – Zutulpuk – Darchen; Drive to Lake Manasarovar: Complete the kora and drive to sacred Lake Manasarovar. Lake Manasarovar – Saga: After a peaceful morning at Manasarovar, drive back across the grand Tibetan Plateau to Saga. •Altitude: Saga (4,600m) •Distance: ~490km / ~7–8 hrs •Overnight: Saga Town
Saga – Sakya Town: Head east towards the historic Sakya town, crossing plains and mountain passes. Sakya’s monasteries are known for their unique Mongolian-style architecture and ancient murals. Altitude: Sakya (4,300m) Distance: ~300km / ~6 hrs Overnight Sakya Town
Visit Sakya Monastery – Drive to Shigatse: Explore Sakya Monastery’s vast prayer halls and hidden libraries. Then drive back to Shigatse and visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, seat of the Panchen Lama and a major center of Tibetan Buddhism. Shigatse – Namling – Seling Tso Lake -Balgon: Visit pristine Seling Tso ,Venture into less-traveled parts of Tibet. Cross through Namling and remote landscapes to reach Balgon, a small village near beautiful hidden lakes. Altitude: Balgon (~4,500m) Distance: ~270km / ~6 hrs Overnight Balgon Town
Balgon - Bamu Tso Lake – Namtso – Lhasa: Visit pristine Bamu Tso lakes, rarely seen by travelers. Continue to world-famous Namtso Lake (4,718m), Tibet’s largest salt lake. If you need help with booking, we’re happy to assist upon request. 4.Single Room Supplement – Tour pricing is based on double occupancy (twin-sharing rooms). If you prefer a private room or room-sharing is unavailable, an additional supplement applies. Please consult your travel advisor for exact rates. 5.Meals Outside Itinerary – Lunch and dinner while in cities, as well as all meals outside of Lhasa and Shigatse, are at your own expense. 6.Tips & Gratuities – Tips for the guide and driver are not included. We suggest budgeting around $7 USD per person per day for both, based on the quality of service received. 7.Force Majeure & Emergencies – Any extra costs due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. natural disasters, traffic restrictions, lost items, visa or flight delays/cancellations, travel insurance, medical treatment, etc.) are not covered. 8.Personal Expenses – Items of a personal nature such as laundry, souvenirs, phone usage, and similar are not included.
